Ogryn Class Spotlight reveals a new weapon that wasn't playable during the closed beta

Fatshark just released a new Darktide trailer called "Ogryn Class Spotlight" and there are new weapon toys that we haven't been able to play in the closed beta.

While players were a bit disappointed to hear that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide only launches with 4 classes, it sure is good to know that there are plenty of weapons to pick from. You can also already view an Ogryn Build that utilizes the Rippergun and the Knife.

The latest Ogryn Class Spotlight trailer revealed two new weapons for the Ogryn that we haven't seen yet in Darktide. 

The Ogryn Shield is a big Shield that can be used to play more defensively. The Shield can block melee and even ranged attacks. In the trailer you can see that the Ogryn blocked Lasgun shots, this is good news! In the closed beta the Ogryn's biggest issue was getting hit by enemy Lasgun shots, quickly depleting his Toughness and then ripping through his health. 

The Ogryn specific Grenadier Gauntlet weapon is the second piece we haven't seen in the closed beta of Darktide. The Grenadier Guantlet can be used effectively in melee because it is a very heavy weapon. The Grenadier Gauntlet can of course also shoot grenades over a long distance. 

Ogryns are abhumans, a subspecies of humanity deemed useful enough to protect it from the sanction of purgation. Stronger and tougher than ordinary humans, Ogryns excel at work that requires extra muscle or indifference to pain and often serve as laborers, manufactorm workers... or, in the Astra Militarum, shock troops, and bodyguards, using their brawny bodies to shield their comrades and immense strength to smash their enemies.

A skullbreaker leans into the Ogryn's foremost attribute: its prodigious strength. He loves nothing more than to charge into the thick of the fighting, shouldering aside any punies that get in his path to deliver punishing, shattering blows against his chosen target. Often while laughing as the tiny, tiny foes tire themselves out flailing at him in return.
