Disney launching card game Lorcana to compete with Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon

Disney is launching a trading card game in 2023 called Lorcana. The card game is developed by Ravensburger, which already has experience developing card games and puzzles.

Lorcana is supposed to compete with industry giants like Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon trading card game. These two card games and a few others have been around for a long time, therefore it will be very difficult to go up against these and be successful. 

Disney has the manpower and more importantly money, to make this trading card game into something successful. 

The annouccement was made on Twitter with the account @DisneyLorcana. More information regarding the game will come on September 9, at the start of the D23 Expo. 

Disney has also launched an official Lorcana trading card game website if you want to go take a look. There isn't much on there yet except a timer that will tell you when the reveal happens.
