Darktide's Veteran: Sharpshooter Class Has Been Revealed
Last week, we wrote about the Zealot Preacher, the first class in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to be fully revealed by Fatshark.
A second class has now joined the fray - the Veteran Sharpshooter. While the Zealot Preacher seemed very similar to the Zealot class in Vermintide 2, the Sharpshooter doesn't closely resemble anything in Fatshark's previous game, however there are of course some parallels in terms of the role in a party composition that the Sharpshooter is likely to perform.
The Veteran Sharpshooter is probably most comparable to the Huntsman class in Vermintide 2. That is to say, it is a primarily ranged focused class, and the class ability further augments your ranged firepower by granting additional damage and accuracy, at the cost of slower movement speed.
The Sharpshooter is poised to be a decent entry point to Darktide for players who haven't played any of Fatshark's "Tide" games before, but do have some experience with first person shooters, as it is one of the most gun-focused classes available in the game.
The name of the class pretty much sums up what it is intended for - picking out and quickly neutralizing dangerous targets in the midst of enemy hordes, such as specials and elites, before they can cause problems for your team.
To aid with this role, you will gain increased ammunition capacity and a passive buff to the amount of damage you do when hitting enemy weakspots.
If you want a chance to try the Veteran Sharpshooter out early, then make sure to register for the Darktide Closed Beta by heading to this page. The next beta is going to be active over the course of this weekend, and will be more gameplay focused than the previous one, which was mostly intended as a technical beta.
Warhammer 40,000 Darktide is due to release on November 30th.
