Victoria 3's Release Date Has Been Announced

Andrew 1 year ago

The long awaited sequel to Paradox Interactive's Victoria 2 finally has a release date, and there's good news for strategy gaming fans, as it's not too far in the future.

Victoria 3 will be released on October 25th, and you can now pre-order it if you want. Players who pre-order will also get a remastered version of the Victoria 2 soundtrack added to the game, following on from the recent trend of giving extra bits of soundtrack to players who pre-order Hearts of Iron IV DLCs.

Alongside the release date announcement, we also got a new trailer and a gameplay stream by Paradox developers, showing off how the game looks and plays in detail.

What is Victoria 3?

Victoria 3 is a grand strategy and society simulator, where players can choose from one of dozens of nations on the world map to guide through a 100 year period, spanning from 1836 to 1936.

Players will have to balance the interests of the many different kinds of people in their nation, represented by groups of people who all have their own needs, interests and desires.

You will decide which technologies to pursue and how to guide your country through the rapidly changing social, military and industrial climate of the Victorian Era.

Similarly to Victoria 2, you can play peacefully, focusing on building a strong economy by securing access to raw materials and getting your industry to turn them into luxury goods to be sold around the world, or use your military strength to secure influence in the world.

It's now been over 12 years since Victoria 2 released, and its successor looks very different, with a high quality 3D game map, high resolution UI and all the other visual improvements that you would expect.

Stay tuned for more updates about Victoria 3, and other games.
