Hearts of Iron IV Finally Has Its Italy Update

Hearts of Iron IV Finally Has Its Italy Update

Since its release in 2016, many of the most notable nations in Hearts of Iron IV have received updates, adding new flavor, unique mechanics and alternative history paths for them to explore, adding to the replay value of the game. One nation that had escaped this treatment, almost becoming a bit of a meme in the Heart of Iron community, was Italy.

Italy seemed cursed to struggle with its unchanged focus tree while other nations got comprehensive updates and reworks, however that has now changed as of today.

The new By Blood Alone DLC, which released today, adds new focus trees for Italy, Ethiopia and Switzerland, allowing players to explore new paths when playing as those nations.

There are also some new features added to the game with the DLC, besides country reworks.

Peace conferences have been reworked, adding new options to choose from, such as demilitarizing defeated nations, bidding on their capital ships or taking control of some of their factories as war reparations.

Divisions will now get a log that keep track of their achievements in the field, and you will also be able to award your leaders with medals.

Probably the biggest change is the new aircraft  designer, adding more in-depth customization to the fighters and bombers that you build to support your forces.

And finally, there will be cosmetic additions and new music in the game's soundtrack to accompany the new content in the game.

You can already play By Blood Alone and try out these new features; the DLC released on Steam earlier today.
