New Stellaris Toxoids DLC Confirmed by Paradox
The Stellaris: Toxoids Species Pack has been announced by Paradox, proving the recent leaks to be correct.
Earlier this week, a leak occurred on the Stellaris Wiki that suggested a new Stellaris DLC called Toxoids would be releasing soon. A couple of days later, this was confirmed by Paradox, who announced the DLC officially and made it available for pre-order.
So what is Toxoids exactly, and when will it be available?
Toxic Life Forms Come to Stellaris
Toxoids are, as their name suggests, life forms that thrive in toxic environments that would be deadly to most species. This new DLC will offer players a selection of new portraits to use for their species, as well as new traits and origins to customize their empire with, along with all the usual associated cosmetics, such as ship models and city appearances.
Toxoid empires will be able to colonize toxic worlds, a planet type that up to this point cannot be inhabited without mods. The ending of the trailer for the DLC appears to show a toxoid empire using a new variant of the Colossus weapon to terraform a planet into a toxic world ready for colonization.
When will the Toxoids Species Pack be Available?
You can pre-order it right now, but Toxoids will release on the 20th of September, two days earlier than the previous leak had indicated.
There is no pre-order discount or bonus for this DLC.
