The Next Assassin's Creed Game has been Confirmed
Today, Ubisoft revealed the next Assassin's Creed game. It will be called Assassin's Creed: Mirage.
There are not many other officially confirmed details about the game at this stage, but Ubisoft have promised that more details will be revealed on September 10th at Ubisoft Forward. And there's also the matter of the leaks...
There's not much information that we can get from the teaser image included with the Twitter announcement, except that the game appears to have a Middle Eastern setting.
However, there were some leaks about Assassin's Creed: Mirage on the 28th August by a Youtuber named j0nathan, and these leaks turned out to get the name of the game correct, as well as Ubisoft's plans to reveal the title in September, so perhaps it's worth taking a look at what else was leaked to get some extra information.
According to the leaked information, the game takes place in 9th Century Baghdad, and we will play as a character called Basim who starts out in his youth as a thief, before later joining the Hidden Ones.
The game will have multiple cities to explore, separated by stretches of desert.
Also, Assassin's Creed: Mirage purportedly takes inspiration from the original Assassin's Creed game, and is has less of the RPG elements that were present in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. This may be good or bad news, depending on your perspective and preferences.
We will find out on September 10th if all of this is true, or if the leaked info wasn't completely accurate, but for the time being there's not much else for fans of the series to get their teeth into.
