2K Games just announced that a new Mafia game is in development. The announcement was made during the 20 years Anniversary of Mafia.
The Mafia game IP has existed for a long time and it has a lot of fans. Especially the first Mafia game was a huge success and was played fiercely by many. Some also look at it as a competitor to GTA.
2K Games shared a Q&A article about the Mafia IP during the 20 years Anniversary and the last question basically announced the new game.

Hladík: I'm happy to confirm we've started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it's a few years away and we can't share anything more right now, we're really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.
We might have to wait a long time for more information as the game will be in development for a few years. Might be time to fire up some of the old Mafia games to relive some of the nostalgia!
