How to enter Competitive Mode in Overwatch 2 - Requirements changed compared to the first game

Overwatch 2 is a new free to play title by Blizzard Entertainment, the game will be released very soon. 

Not much has changed in Overwatch 2 compared to Overwatch 1. However, one thing that is different is how you can enter the Competitive Mode in the game. The new requirements are that you WIN 50 games of Quick Play before you are able to enter Competitive Mode in Overwatch 2.

This was likely done to avoid flooding of the Competitive Mode by new accounts because Overwatch 2 is now free to play. It should also help new players to first get a grasp on the game and test out plenty of characters. 

While it might take a bit longer to enter Competitive Mode in Overwatch 2, this is definitely a move into the right direction. Killing two birds with one stone, new players get more time to learn the game and smurfs have to put in "work" to get into the Competitive Mode queue. 

Players also mentioned in the thread that this is only the case for new accounts. Meaning that if you have played Overwatch 1 you will be able to enter Competitive Mode directly.
